Richard "Dick" and Dorothy "Dot" Hornbuckle of Largo celebrated 65 years of marriage Feb. 5. Mr. Hornbuckle hails from Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Hornbuckle was born and raised on a farm in Silver Creek, N.Y. They married in 1943 in Springfield, Mo. When World War II ended in 1945, Mr. Hornbuckle returned from overseas and he and Mrs. Hornbuckle set up residence in West Seneca, N.Y. There he ran a successful garden supply and landscaping business while Mrs. Hornbuckle worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital. The couple has been visiting Largo since the 1970s, and eventually bought a winter home here. They also own a summer cottage in Honeoye Lake, N.Y. The Hornbuckles are Lutherans and enjoy gardening, bowling and golfing. They have two children, two grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren.
