TAMPA - Tampa Fire Rescue officials are investigating a blaze Saturday night at a city parks and recreation department facility adjacent to the Lowry Park Zoo. The Center Complex Building off North Boulevard, just north of Sligh Avenue, caught fire about 7:15 p.m., special operations chief Michael Gonzalez said. The facility houses offices and a warehouse that contains lawn equipment, chain saws, vehicles, fuel and oxygen. "Several of those containers ruptured," Gonzalez said. "There were several small explosions that occurred while fire crews were battling this blaze." Officials were scheduled to return to the building at 7 a.m. today to continue their investigation.
