Today Boys basketball, Brandon (22-4) at Ridgewood (24-3), 7 p.m.: The most intriguing playoff matchup involving an area team, if only for the low-post matchup of Eagles 6-foot-8 senior Evan Ravenel against 6-8 junior Lukas Poderis. Boys basketball, Seffner Christian (16-12) at Bayshore Christian (19-8), 7 p.m.: The only playoff game involving two Hillsborough County squads. Bayshore won two of the teams' three regular-season meetings. Softball, Gaither (2-0) at Mitchell (3-1), 7 p.m.: The Cowboys, our preseason No. 1 team, gets their toughest test to date - in a district game, no less. Friday Baseball, Hillsborough (2-0) at Plant (1-0), 7 p.m.: The Terriers are rebuilding but should be pretty stoked for this crosstown rivalry, in which the intensity sometimes spills over. Baseball, Wesley Chapel (1-1) at Tampa Catholic (0-1), 4 p.m.: New Wildcats coach Chuck Yingling faces the program he guided to the 1996 state title.
