It's 65 years for couple

Dr. Bernard "Terry" and Vera "Arlene" Wolfson of Clearwater celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Jan. 21.
They were married Jan. 21, 1943, in Charleston, Ill.
They came here in 1983 from Washington, D.C., following Dr. Wolfson's retirement after 30 years as senior research scientist and program manager with the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research. Dr. Wolfson also founded a consulting company, Wolfson Associates International, and was a high-level adviser and consultant to government agencies, private industry and universities in advanced chemical and energy systems.
Dr. Wolfson served in the Navy during World War II, working as a research and development engineer and scientist. He was also a captain in the Air Force during the Korean War, assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Throughout his career, Dr. Wolfson has been involved in the field of chemical energy, and worked on projects including cloud-seeding, rocket booster performance and the Scramjet engine, which may enable fighter jets to reach Mach 15.
Mrs. Wolfson was a professional ballroom dancer. She taught dancing at both Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Dayton and Washington, D.C. In addition, she was vice president and office manager of her husband's consulting company.
The couple have two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Glendle and Cenie Neal of Clearwater celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13, 2007, with family and friends at the Boizao Steakhouse in Tampa.
They were married Oct. 11, 1947, by a justice of the peace in Rossville, Ga.
They lived in Albany, Ky., until 1955, and came to Clearwater in 1978 from New Castle, Ind.
Mr. Neal retired from the Chrysler Corp. in New Castle, where he also built homes and apartments.
From 1978 to 1982, Mr. and Mrs. Neal owned the Sandpiper Motel on Clearwater Beach.
Mr. Neal has been a Mason for more than 50 years.
The Neals are active members of Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater and have a son and two grandchildren.
