WWII museum is venue for chamber mixer

The Zephyrhills Historical Association will host a mixer for the Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce from 5 to 7 tonight at the World War II Barracks Museum on South Road at the airport. Museum volunteers will give tours of the site during the event, which is free. There will be door prizes as well. For information, call (813) 782-8405.

Argument leads to man being shot
A young man was shot in the stomach Wednesday afternoon after an argument with several men in a car, the Sheriff's Office said. The victim's name was not released. Sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said the man was flown to a local hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening. About 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Tobin, a silver Saturn with dark windows pulled up in front of 6605 Ginny Drive. The victim was standing outside. An argument erupted and one of the car's passengers got out and shot the victim at least once in the lower abdomen, Tobin said. The investigation is continuing.
