Council to discuss new trail tonight
By Ebony Windom, Times Correspondent

A new 28-mile trail may be in Zephyrhills' future. The idea first came up four years ago, when a meeting was held to gather ideas from residents for the trail. A conceptual plan will be presented at 6 tonight at the City Council meeting. The proposed $11-million trail would connect to nearby Withlacoochee State and Fort King trails and offer amenities for bikers, joggers and skaters, according to a city memo. Developers plan to apply for federal and state grants to help pay for the trail, and use private funding, too. Proposals to rezone two pieces of property for separate projects are also scheduled to be up for discussion at the council meeting. Anthony and Traci Karpinski want to rezone a half-acre of land on Daughtery Road from residential to city mixed use. Another proposal involves Solomon Singh and Elizabeth John, who want to rezone 1.2 acres of land on Fort King Road from residential to mixed use.

Let me see; nice new trail, new soccer fields, etc. etc. etc.. No new beach, no where for off roaders to go, etc.etc.etc.. I think the trail is great, but there are other sports too, and there seems to plenty of trails. The old guard needs changed.
