Water test calls are not from county utilities

Hernando County Utilities warns residents of calls from private water treatment companies that are identifying themselves as a water company in Hernando County and offering to test residents' drinking water. These sales calls are not connected with Hernando County Utilities. The department urges residents to be aware that it identifies itself through official letterheads, clearly marked vehicles and employee ID badges. For information, call 754-4037.

Flea market vendors need to get papers in
Vendor reservations are due Saturday to participate in theThrivent Gigantic Flea Market and Craft Show that will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 15 at Christ Lutheran Church, 475 North Ave. W. Get rid of your dangerous stuff
Household hazardous waste will be collected from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hernando County Solid Waste and Recycling Division's West Hernando Convenience Center, 2525 Osowaw Blvd. EQ of Florida Inc. will take waste from Hernando County residents (free) and small businesses (for a fee, payable at time of service). Clarification
A town hall meeting with Wayne Alexander, superintendent of the Hernando County schools, will be at 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, in the Lorenzo Hamilton Community Center in Brooksville. A listing in Tuesday's paper did not include the date.
