key official at first home named to bank's board

Following its annual stockholders meeting, First Home Bank announced that Larry C. Cunningham has been appointed to the bank's board of directors. Cunningham was appointed president in 2005 and has been the bank's chief operating officer since opening in 1999. Bank chairman Robert G. Castles said the board of directors was unanimous in its endorsement of Cunningham and cited his long working relationship at both the $100-million community bank and its predecessor, Seminole Bank, since 1987.

Art lounge launches Monday viewings

Newly opened art lounge NOVA 535 will begin its public outreach with an event March 1 called Heavenly Creatures. The showing, which owners are vague in describing, starts at 7 p.m. with no cover charge before 9 p.m. Then on March 3 and each Monday thereafter, the venue will have open viewing hours from 4 to 10 p.m. The Monday sessions will also involve playing GO, the ancient Asian game of strategy.

Visit Abilities Wine Festival on March 8

Featuring 400 wines, as many auction items and samplings from 40 restaurants, the 19th annual Abilities Wine Festival is set for 6 p.m. March 8 at Tropicana Field. Last year 4,500 people attended, raising more than $150,000 to support programs for people with disabilities.
