Appeal denied in city's rejection of condo plan

The 2nd District Court of Appeal denied a developer's request to force the city to reconsider its decision to reject the final site plan of his project, a condominium complex planned at 715 Edgewater Drive. The developer, Kelly Prior, is also pursuing a claim seeking $1-million to $6-million in damages to make up for revenue he claims he lost when his plan was rejected.
Celebrities honor Dr. Seuss at school
Largo police Chief Lester Aradi and news anchor Brendan McLaughlin of WFTS-Ch. 11 will join readers at Largo Middle School on Friday in the school's commemoration of the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Aradi will read Green Eggs and Ham for two classes starting at 10:30 a.m. and McLaughlin is to read The Lorax at 2 p.m. for a couple of science classes. Essay contest's prize: scholarships
The African American Leadership Council is awarding college scholarships of up to $1,500 to the winners of an essay contest. To be eligible, students must attend a Pinellas County school north of Ulmerton Road or live in upper Pinellas County. Sorority fundraiser offers show peek
Clearwater Alumnae Panhellenic will sponsor its annual Premier Night featuring Mame at the Largo Cultural Center on Thursday, the night before the show opens to the general public. Tickets for the event may be purchased for $25 at the Cultural Center, 105 Central Park Drive. Proceeds will fund college scholarships for sorority women from Pinellas and Pasco counties.
