Social security office movesto new location

CLEARWATER The downtown Clearwater Social Security office has moved and will reopen March 10 at its new location at 2340 Drew St. Until then, services will be available by phone toll-free at 1-800-772-1213 or on the Internet at www.socialsecurity.gov. Office hours at the new office will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Glen Oaks Park cleanup Saturday Bring your canoe or kayak to help remove trash, litter and debris from Glen Oaks Park waters or help clean the park grounds. The clean-up will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Trash bags, pickers and gloves will be provided to volunteers who help with the park grounds cleanup. The park is at 1345 Court St. To volunteer for the water cleanup, call Terri at Keep Pinellas Beautiful at (727) 533-0402. To volunteer for the grounds cleanup, call Sarah at (727) 562-4897. Greyhound group to host meet, greet Greyhound Rescue and Adoptions of Tampa Bay will have a meet and greet event with greyhounds from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 2625 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., Clearwater. LARGO Emergency center preview Saturday The community is invited to a preview of the new Morton Plant Mease Bardmoor Emergency Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 8839 Bryan Dairy Road, Largo. The event will include tours of the center, free health screenings, free chair massages, child finger printing and safety information, as well as children's activities and refreshments. The center will open officially on Wednesday . TARPON SPRINGS Kiwanis collecting used cell phones Members of the Kiwanis Club of Tarpon Springs are collecting used cell phones to be recycled or refurbished and reused.
