Saint Leo's lacrosse team loses to Dowling

A lackluster offensive performance doomed Saint Leo's lacrosse team as it fell 9-4 to No. 5 Dowling College.
Dowling 2-0 took an early two-goal lead as John McClure and Nick Cotter both found the back of the net. Each player finished with two goals. Dowling goalkeeper Nick Tracey had 10 of his 16 saves in the second half and never surrendered the lead to the Lions.
The Lions (2-1) face Rollins on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Winter Park.
Wrestling: The World Class Wrestling Club is practicing at River Ridge High School, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey.
The club is open to all elementary and middle school-age kids. Practices are from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration is a one-time fee of $100, which includes a USA Wrestling membership card, club T-shirt and wrestling shoes. Football and Cheerleading: The Hudson Police Athletic League is holding open registration for children ages 5 to 16.
Cheerleaders are encouraged to sign up early due to the number of outside competitions they will be attending. Sign ups will be at Beef O'Brady's at Hudson and Little roads March 4 and April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Another option is March 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arthur Engle Field (Denton Avenue). Two forms of residency, a birth certificate, a picture of the child. The fee is $135 with a multiple child discount available. For more information, call Tammy Paxton at (727) 243-3198.
Rugby: The Tampa Barbarians, a new Wesley Chapel rugby team, seeks high school players 14-19.

Fair day: Sport + Field, at 2029 Arrowgrass Drive in Wesley Chapel, is hosting Inflatable Fair Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can access the entire facility with a $10 wristband. For more information, call (813) 948-5500.
