Saying so long to touch screens Secretary of State Kurt Browningsaid Thursday that he has hired Creative Recycling of Tampa to dispose of 30,000 touch screen voting machines rendered obsolete by the change to optical scan units. Browning said the firm will break down 11,555 Sequoia units and about 17,000 machines made by Elections Systems & Software. Art museum gets $2.5-million donation The Tampa Museum of Art announced the largest individual gift in its 28-year history Thursday: a $2.5-million joint pledge from museum trustee Cornelia Corbett, former owner of the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team; her husband Richard, a developer/partner of International Plaza; and her maternal family foundation, the William Stamps Farish Fund.
