Stay awareof regulationsfor fishing A reminder that snook season opens today in gulf waters and remains open until May 1. The season had been closed from December through February. The regulations are one keeper snook per day, not less than 28 inches and not more than 33 inches in the gulf. A snook must be from 28 to32 inches in the Atlantic Ocean. A snook permit is required when a saltwater license is required. And the one-month closure on spotted seatrout ends today. The maximum daily bag limit for spotted seatrout in reopened waters north of the established boundaries (north of Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs) is five fish per person. In waters south of these boundaries, the daily limit is four fish per person. For a listing of saltwater fishing regulations, go to www.myfwc.com. Rodney Page, Times staff writer
