LAND O'LAKES - Jewelry boxes, a handgun, a generator - these are some of the items Pasco sheriff's deputies said Christopher McCormick stole for drug money.
McCormick, 40, of New Port Richey, was arrested Thursday and charged with multiple counts of burglary and grand theft, among other charges. Deputies said he broke into several Land O'Lakes homes and stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry, tools and video equipment.
McCormick admitted to breaking into as many as 70 homes in the area, according to the arrest reports.
He was high during the burglaries and couldn't remember the details of all the homes he broke into, deputies said he told them. They did not know what drugs he was on at the time.
This isn't McCormick's first brush with the law.
As a teenager, he was convicted of sexual assault, according to state records. He's also faced charges that he fondled a minor and assaulted a police officer.
McCormick is currently at the Land O'Lakes jail on $155,000 bail. In addition to burglary and grand theft, he was also charged with fraud and with failing to register as a sexual offender.

My question is why is this guy allowed to live and reside among honest people? Sounds to me that an opportunity to terminate this pukes life of crime is at hand.
