RIVERVIEW - A mother and her children were reunited Saturday night after they were separated in a botched car theft. Hillsborough County sheriff's dispatchers said the woman got out of the car in her driveway, leaving her children in the backseat. That's when several teenagers jumped into the car and drove away. Deputies were able to catch three teens who ran from the scene, but are still searching for the ones who took the minivan. The van was found abandoned at Windermere Apartments at 9474 Windermere Lake Drive at around 7 p.m. with the children unharmed and still in the car, said police dispatcher April Grimes. If you have any information about the crime, contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8000. Times staff
