Faith briefs: Interfaith talk at Palladium nears

Leaders to hold interfaith talkat palladium

An interfaith panel discussion will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palladium theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N. The event is being sponsored by the Florida Holocaust Museum, the Florida International Museum and Saint Leo University's Center for Catholic Jewish Studies.

Dr. Michael Tkacik, director of the Center for Catholic Jewish Studies, will be the moderator. Panelists will be Rabbi James Rudin, Bishop Robert Lynch and Dr. Philip Cunningham, author A Story of Shalom: The Calling of Christians and Jews by a Covenanting God.

The Rev. Sykes honored in March

The Rev. Manuel Sykes is celebrating his 15th year as pastor of Bethel Community Baptist Church, 2901 54th Ave. S. Sykes will be honored by fellow clergy at 7 p.m. services Wednesdays in March. The celebration ends with a 10 a.m. service March 30.

Bethel brunch will begin celebration

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 912 Third Ave. N, will begin its 114th anniversary with a prayer brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday. Members will model hats from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free, but an offering will be collected.

St. Jude's to offer Lenten reflection

People of the Passion, a Lenten reflection with music, drama and dance, will be held in Our Lady's Chapel of St. Jude's Cathedral, 5815 Fifth Ave. N. The free program starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
