W. Russ Smith joins Arbitration Forums Inc., a Tampa arbitration service organization, after serving as a claims adjuster at Amica Mutual Insurance Co. and vice president of claims at USAA. Smith is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, the Darden School of Business Executive Program at the University of Virginia and the Business Executive Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the American Insurance Association Casualty Claims and Property Claims Subcommittees.
Kevin Beitzel
Chief Operating Officer, Avantair Inc.
Kevin Beitzel has been promoted to chief operating officer at Avantair Inc., a Clearwater standalone fractional aircraft operator. Beitzel most recently served as executive vice president of maintenance operations. A 20-year veteran of the aviation industry, Beitzel has worked at Pan American World Airways, and spent 16 years at U.S. Airways in various management roles before joining Avantair in 2005. Beitzel earned a bachelor's of arts degree in aviation management from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and an associate's degree in professional aeronautics from Carnegie Mellon University. He received advanced leadership training while at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania.
William Dean Garrison
Dean of the University of South Florida Libraries
William "Bill" Dean Garrison joins the University of South Florida Libraries in Tampa from Syracuse University, where he was deputy university librarian and associate dean of libraries. Garrison held senior positions at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Stanford University and Northwestern University. Garrison earned a bachelor's degree in Latin and German from Valparaiso University, a master's degree in Latin from the University of Illinois; and a master's degree in library science from the Dominican University, formally Rosary College. He is the recipient of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging Special Service Award.
Jeff Croskey
Vice President of Operations, McNichols Co.
Jeff Croskey has been promoted at the McNichols Co., a Tampa supplier and fabricator of specialty metal products. Croskey most recently served as director of national operations and has worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and at Crestline Homes in North Carolina. Croskey earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical/astronautical engineering from Ohio State University and a master's degree in business administration from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University.

Deanne Robertsreceivedthe 2008 Silver Medal from the Tampa Advertising Federation. The award recognizes people in the advertising industry for their creative ability and contributions to their company, the advertising field and their community. Roberts is chairwoman of Roberts Communications, Tampa.

Monica M. Christopher has been named vice president, regional marketing manager, at M&I Bank, Tampa. Christopher was director of business development at Chitester Management Systems Inc., Tampa.
