Railroad work closes Ayers Road at tracks today

Motorists are reminded that Ayers Road at the railroad tracks, just east of U.S. 41, will be closed today through March 11 as CSX Railroad continues major maintenance on its line through Hernando County. Detour routes will be posted. Detour maps are available at the Sheriff's Office and substations, fire stations, the Brooksville Police Department, the Hernando County Government Center, Brooksville City Hall and the Hernando County Public Works Department. Annual dinner dance celebrates namesake
The Masaryktown community will celebrate with its annual Tomas Masaryk Birthday Day Dinner and Dance on Sunday at the Masaryktown Community Center, 539 Lincoln Ave. The meal choice is marinated baked chicken or kielbasa, starting at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children younger than 12. Following dinner, Mario DeLeon will provide music for dancing, and the vocal duet Steve & Malia will entertain, as will the Beseda Dancers. Tickets will be available at the door.
