New super Wal-Mart opens Friday in Hudson
By Times Staff Writer
Published March 4, 2008
HUDSON - The county's newest Wal-Mart Supercenter will open at 7:30 a.m. Friday. The nearly 211,550-square-foot store, located at 12610 U.S. 19 just north of Beacon Woods Drive, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will feature a grocery store, Tire & Lube Express, a hair salon, SunTrust Bank branch and a restaurant. In a news release, company officials tout the store's design - pineapple reliefs decorate the entrances - and its environmental features, including stained concrete floors that are specially designed to require little maintenance. The store employs 400 associates. The manager is James Schroder, who began his Wal-Mart career more than six years ago as an overnight stocker at the Port Richey store and worked his way into management.

I 'll go to the Kmart next door. They appreciate my business much more than Walmart ever will.
