Marine Corps Cpl. Paul C. Jaynes, son of Mary Ireland of St. Petersburg, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. He is a 2001 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Air Force Airman Orico D. Martin, son of Vienda Martin of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Army Spec. Robert A. Secrest, son of Mary and Darren Secrest of Seminole, has been deployed to Taji, Iraq, as a cannon crew member with the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
