Reception to honor nominees for 2008 women of the year

The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce tonight will hold a special reception honoring the 2008 Women of Distinction nominees from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the new Hazel Hough Wing of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Nominees for Business Women of the Year are Grace-Ann Alfiero, Dorothy Bailey, Susan Marie Buchholtz, Lisbeth Cherry, Diane T. Emery, Kathy L. Furbush, Joy Gendusa, Jane L. Harper, Lynn Heckler, Michele Huguet, Karen Krymski, Christine Noordstar, Dr. Felita Gale McNeill, Noreen Parker, Katie Pemble, Marilyn M. Polson, Suzanne B. Pomerantzeff, Sarah K. Snyder, Dr. Carol S. Steele, Karen L. Surdyk and Paula Vieillet.

Sunscreen Film Festto attract celebrities

The third annual Sunscreen Film Festival is gearing up for March 19-22 at the Vinoy Resort and Muvico Theaters BayWalk. Presenting work from local, national and international filmmakers, the festival provides educational and informational programs for filmmakers and the public, as well as networking for filmmakers and their peers. The event is also becoming a magnet for celebrities from all aspects of the industry and for fans wishing to see them. The festival is presented by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Society.

Dorothy Baily is one of the outstanding women in the business and education field in Pinellas County after 33 years of service. Pinellas Technical Education Center in St. Petersburg is lucky to have 2 nominations, Dorothy Bailey and Evelyn Gardner.
