She's Florida's first girlfriend

For months, Gov. Charlie Crist has insisted that New York socialite Carol Rome is just "a friend," but Tuesday night at a soiree in the Governor's Mansion, he introduced her as "my girlfriend," says the Tallahassee Democrat, which snapped the picture above.
In November, the New York Post reported that Rome, in the midst of divorcing Bluestar Jets CEO Todd Rome, was dating Crist. Then, the governor's staff said Rome, a mother of school-age girls, was just "a friend."
Still, last month Crist took Rome to the White House for a dinner with President Bush. So far, that's two high-profile dates for just a "friend."

He puts himself out there to serve the public. Because that's who he is. No matter what he is. So cast those stones. I don't think Charlie cares a wit about that.

It doesn't bother me if he's gay. That doesn't affect whether he can do a job. What is troubling is that there has to be a pretense. Why can't our society just grow up?

Am I the only one who noticed it appears she is still wearing her WEDDING RING from her current/soon-to-be-previous husband while holding Charlie's hand w/ the other. Really showing us ultimate class there Gov. Try waiting til her divorce is final.

Too busy playing with the girls to do his job. Please RESIGN ALREADY CRIST. BUSH WAS VERY BAD, BUT YOU ARE BY FAR THE WORST. Take a good look at FL, what have you done as far as cleaning up FRAUD? NOT 1 THING. Your office claims its not ur problem!!!

Debbie, get off it. I'm divorced 25 years, not a lesbian, nothing to hide, just never met Mr. Right. If Charlie has met Ms. Right, good for him. They make a lovely couple.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It's common after divorce not to want to get involved. You become pickier about who you might consider becoming serious with and often become wiser with age about picking a potential partner. Life is good alone

Yeah right. And I'm a millionaire. What interesting timing... She's a girl and she might be his 'friend', thus the term 'girlfriend'. But make no mistake, this is another calculated move prior to national scrutiny... And I wouldn't call it good.
