An exhibit of work by artist James Sikes, "Japan Revisited: Acrylic Paintings and Collages," will be at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center through March 29. The center is at 101 S Pinellas Ave. (Alt. 19), Tarpon Springs. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Free.

The Chasco Camera Club of Port Richey will exhibit 30 photos in the Brooksville City Hall Spring Art Show through April 9. The show is in the City Hall art gallery, 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. There will a reception for exhibitors from 5 to 7 p.m. March 19. Free.

West Pasco Quilters' Guild Inc. will present "Sew Many Quilts 2008" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson. The show features large quilt and small quilt auctions, quilting supplies vendors, antique quilts, quilted items boutique, quilt appraisals, lectures, demos and door prizes. Admission is $6 a day, $10 all three days.
Richey Suncoast Theatre continues the warm comedy-drama, Steel Magnolias, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Tickets are $15. Stage West Community Playhouse will present the musical Camelot at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and March 14 and 15 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and March 16 at the theater, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Centennial Opera Group continues its series "Viva Giuseppe," the life and operas of Verdi, at 12:30 p.m. at Centennial Park Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday. A video lecture by Robert Greenberg of UC/Berkeley on Aida will be followed by scenes of the La Scala production featuring the late Luciano Pavarotti and Maria Chiarra. Free.
The First Friday Artist's Reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Progress Energy Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. About 20 of Wes Trigger's "Orchids in Oils" will be exhibited through March 26. Others in the show are artists and photographers Carol Gula, Gregory Colvin, Lorna Conley, Angela Taylor, Cheryl Molennor, Michelle Collins, Karren Tolliver, Paula Showen, Sherry Stamback and quilt artist Elizabeth Harrison.
An open mic for singers, musicians, poets and comics will be at 6:30 p.m. at New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey. The foreign film, Day for Night, will be shown at 8:30 p.m. The comedy is about the people who make movies won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1973. Free.
