Army National Guard Pvt. Alexandra Mann graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, basic first aid and field training exercises. She is the granddaughter of James Reaume Sr. of Clearwater. Mann is a 2007 graduate of Freedom High School, Tampa. * * * Army Reserve Spec. Robert E. Stevens III has returned to the 320th Military Police Company, St. Petersburg, after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Stevens is a signal support system specialist with three years of military service. He is the son of Bob and Sandee Stevens of Clearwater. * * * Air Force Airman Daniel A. Shea graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. Shea earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Jane Engel of Waterford, Wis., and Kevin Shea of Clearwater. The airman graduated in 2007 from Waterford Union High School. * * * Air Force Airman April L. Shank graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. She is the daughter of Ronald and Barbara Shank of Largo. Shank graduated in 2003 from Largo High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 2007 from the University of South Florida, Tampa. * * * Pvt. James Harrison graduated with Distinctive Honors from Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. He was first in his class and was honored with a Merit Award. The private has been assigned to the 3rd Infantry Divisions Aviation Brigade, Home Detachment, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah Ga. Harrison is the son of Mark Harrison and stepson of Carol Harrison of Palm Harbor, and son of Sandy Harrison of Mount Juliet, Tenn. * * * Shauna L. Vaughan, 23, was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve Nurse Corps on Sept. 13, 2007. She was accepted into the specialized training assistance program as she completes her master's degree for nurse practitioner-acute care. The Gainesville resident is the daughter of Meg and Chip Vaughan of Dunedin. Vaughan is a 2002 summa cum laude graduate of Palm Harbor University's Center for Wellness and Medical Professions. She graduated from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in food science and human nutrition, Nutritional Sciences and a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2007. She is also an instructor at the University of Florida.
