Share ideas for better Bay area transportation

COUNTYWIDE The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority is asking the public to share ideas and concerns during a series of community workshops from Monday to March 20. The meeting for Pinellas County will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn Select, 3535 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater. Participants will be asked to consider possible locations for transportation improvements such as U.S. 19. For information, call the authority at 813 217-4048. DUNEDIN Sidewalks near schools approved The City Commission approved an agreement to construct sidewalks to give pedestrians a safer route to Dunedin Highland Middle School and Dunedin Elementary. The city is working with the Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Florida Department of Transportation and the county school system to build sidewalks on the east side of New York Avenue between Union Street and Roanoke and on the south side of Roanoke Street between Milwaukee and New York avenues. The FDOT will pay up to $150,000 of the $154,442 project. COUNTYWIDE Free home buying seminars set Clearwater Neighborhood Housing Services Inc., a nonprofit community-based organization providing housing and economic development services in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties, is hosting free home buyer education seminars from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the following Saturdays: March 15, April 12 and May 10. There will be a contest for the most innovative entry. Each person who submits a marketing item can also promote their business. Look at St Pete streets. There are many main west and east avenues. And many south and north main streets. Upper county only have a few. And they are depended on major roads. Where as St. Pete isn't. The cites in the areas need to fix that.
