Family escapes from Sunday house fire
Authorities are investigating the cause of an early-morning blaze on Sunday that forced a family of five out of their house at 7841 Royal Stewart Drive and caused extensive damage to the structure. The home's smoke alarm woke one of the family's three daughters about 5:30 a.m., said Battalion Chief Torrey Duink of Pasco County Fire Rescue. The girl then alerted the rest of the family, and everyone managed to escape unharmed. Duink said the fire caused major damage to the more than 2,000-square-foot house and the family's sport utility vehicle, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze. The name of the family wasn't immediately released, but Pasco County property records show the home is owned by Patrick and Alicia Greenman, who bought the house in April 2006.
