Today
Softball, Gulf (6-5) at Springstead (6-2), 7 p.m.: The Bucs could establish themselves as a threat by enduring a tough four-game stretch beginning with the Eagles.
Softball, Mitchell (8-3) at River Ridge (6-0), 7 p.m.: The Mustangs look to snap a two-game losing streak and will have Courtney Stager back in the lineup.
Baseball, Hernando (4-3) at Springstead (7-2), 7 p.m.: A pivotal Class 4A, District 8 duel, considering both teams enter the week tied with Nature Coast for second place in the district. We’re hoping for a pitching matchup of Hernando’s Morgan Rogers and Springstead’s Brett Maggard.
Thursday
Softball, Gulf (6-5) at Pasco (10-0), 7 p.m.: The Pirates haven’t played in a week thanks to a pair of rainouts.
Softball, Mitchell (8-3) at Land O’Lakes (6-0), 8 p.m.: The Gators face their first true test, which could mean seeing Michelle Bradley on the mound.
Baseball, Nature Coast (5-2) at Springstead (7-2), 7 p.m.: Nature Coast won the first meeting 7-2. Springstead can finish the week either in sole possession of second place in the 4A-8 race or somewhere in the middle of the nine-team pack.
Friday
Track, Wildcat Fast Times (at Wesley Chapel), 2:30 p.m.: The annual meet gives competitors a preview of the venue where the Sunshine Athletic Conference meet will be held next month.
Softball, Nature Coast (8-2) at Gulf (6-5), 7 p.m.: The Sharks have overcome sickness and injury that dwindled the available roster to nine players last week.
Softball, River Ridge (6-0) at Land O’Lakes (6-0), 7 p.m.: This matchup has been rained out three times. Hopefully, they’ll finally play.
