Air Force Airman Jraron K. Lasseter, son of Davis Toronda of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Army Pvt. Iasia E. Owens, granddaughter of Narolyn Ward of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is a 2007 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.
