Lotto smiles on Pinellas Park woman
The Florida Lottery announced today that Linda Giguere, 61, of Pinellas Park claimed the $37-million Feb. 20 Lotto jackpot. Giguere chose a one-time lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $20,859,551.67. The winning ticket was purchased at a Winn Dixie at 6501 102nd Ave. N in Pinellas Park. The store received a bonus incentive of $45,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The winning numbers were 10, 12, 20, 25, 28 and 39. Giguere is the 62nd Lotto winner to purchase a winning ticket in Pinellas County.
Proposed law is on a roll
There should be enough toilet paper when you go into the restroom at an eating establishment. That's what Sen. Victor Crist, R-Tampa, thinks, and he's got a bill to make it happen. The measure would require that restrooms be kept clean and that every stall have toilet paper at all times, although it doesn't spell out how much. The bill also requires that each stall have a door that actually closes. The bill SB 386 was approved 8-0 by the Senate Regulated Industries Committee Tuesday. It has two more Senate committee stops to go, and if it doesn't get wiped out by one of them, it could then go to the floor. A similar measure (HB 437) is awaiting a committee hearing in the House.
