GROWTH MORATORIUM SHOT DOWN: The County Commission has given developers and residents 60 days to consider new water conservation ideas, although a moratorium on rezonings in northwest Hillsborough is not one of them. Commissioner Jan Platt dropped that idea Tuesday before it went to the commission. Pursuing a moratorium in northwest Hillsborough "would polarize the issue," she said. "It doesn't make sense . . . when we have continued growth in Pasco and the rest of the county."
