Opening the door on a new dome

Winifred Rood opens the airlock-style door between the pool and locker rooms at the Hernando County YMCA on Friday. The pool is covered by a dome, which is supported by air. Vandals damaged the dome in December, and a new dome was finished Thursday at a cost of $53,000.

The honchos at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre were surprised that their current show, Some Like It Hot, turned out to be such a big hit with audiences. Unlike the theater's other three blockbusters -- La Cage aux Folles, Can-Can and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas -- the musical version of Some Like It Hot isn't all that well known.

Man guilty in attacks on wife, officers
BROOKSVILLE -- A man previously convicted of killing his wife pleaded guilty to multiple charges Friday stemming from an incident when his new wife told police he also threatened to kill her.
