HOME DEPOT CO-FOUNDER TO RETIRE: Home Depot co-founder and co-chairman Arthur Blank said he plans to retire when his term ends May 30. Blank, 58, said his decision was based on the successful transition by Robert Nardelli, who succeeded Blank as chief executive in December. Bernie Marcus, co-founder and co-chairman, is expected to continue as chairman of the board. The announcement comes a day after Home Depot said fourth-quarter income fell 20 percent to $465-million, its first decline in 15 years. It also said it plans to open 200 stores this year, down from 204 last year.
