Dinner to honor firefighters
An appreciation dinner will be held for past and present San Antonio volunteer firefighters from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 31 at the St. Anthony Parish Center, 32832 Massachusetts Ave., San Antonio. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children for the dinner, which includes barbecue chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, drink and dessert. A fire truck will be provided for children to sit on and there will be a mini-fire truck for younger children to take rides. The fire department will display historical items such as old photos, newspaper articles and plaques. Fire Chief Troy Newton will present the Fire Fighter of the Year Award.
