We're two rounds into the NCAA women's tournament, and if you were hoping to find Cinderella, I've got bad news. She ain't coming.
Devil Rays/baseball
For Rays, 'unbalanced' schedule means 'tough'
TAMPA -- The Devil Rays met up with the Yankees at Legends Field on Wednesday night, one of just two games they play against the defending World Series champions this spring. If only their regular-season schedule were so light.
Defense deserts in loss to Yanks

Love off to great start, but it's how you finish
PONTE VEDRA BEACH -- Joe Durant has more victories, Tiger Woods far more scrutiny. But if you're Davis Love III, you have to like the way things are progressing at this important point in the season.
Sorenstam's 59 is magic for LPGA, too
As great as Tiger Woods is for golf, his accomplishments tend to dwarf everything else in the game. The Senior PGA Tour has seen its television ratings decline, and the LPGA is constantly starved for attention.
Big purse not a motivation
PONTE VEDRA BEACH -- Even in this day of big-money tournaments, it's difficult not to notice the Players Championship payday: $6-million, with $1,060,000 to the winner. That's more money than at each of the four major championships, the three official World Golf Championship events and the Tour Championship.
Outdoors
Captain's corner
At last we were able to get out spearfishing due west of John's Pass to ledges in 87 feet of water. The water temperature was a comfortable 67 degrees all the way to the bottom. Our marker jug had bounced off just enough that the ledge was not within our 40-foot window of visibility. Adding a pound to the weight is prudent this time of year.

Hurricanes finally score their run to slip past Cougars
PALM HARBOR -- If things had gone as they should have, Palm Harbor University's Steve Bowen would have cruised into second base and then turned to watch his teammates mob the baserunner he had just driven in with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. However, PHU had muffed the opportunity. A botched sacrifice bunt, followed by a picked-off baserunner, had emptied the bases. Thus, Bowen's ripped two-out double -- just PHU's third hit of the game -- was for naught ... or maybe not.
