BREESE, JANET F., 83, of Inverness, died Sunday (April 1, 2001) in Inverness. Born in Logansport, Ind., she came here 14 years ago from Bradenton. She was a retired elementary school teacher, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Logansport. She attended First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, John G., Inverness; a brother, James Forgery, Florida; two sisters, Martha Yoder, Auburn, Ind., and Harriett Albertson, Venice; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. CHANCELLOR, CHARLES DAVIS JR., 80, of Crystal River, died Sunday (April 1, 2001) at Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Savannah, Ga., he came here 25 years ago from Dothan, Ala. He retired from St. Andrews Bay Rail Line as a chief rate clerk. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crystal River. DYKEMAN, JOHN LEWIS, 73, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) in Lecanto. Born in Brockton, Mass., he came here nine years ago from Halifax, Mass. He retired as a mechanical engineer for Texas Instruments. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Seven Rivers Country Club. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Patricia Levesque; two sons, William Camara, Danbury, N.H., and Aaron Camara, Sommersett, Mass.; two daughters, Holly Foley, Elgin, Okla., and Kendell Bevilaque, Deltona; a sister, Irene Lyons, Amesburg, Mass.; and five grandchildren. VERRIER, JOSEPH, 84, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. Born in L'avenir, Quebec, he moved here four years ago. He had been a Florida resident for nearly 48 years coming from Rincon, Ga. He was a retired tool and die maker, primarily employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and had been active in the Knights of Columbus. Born in Cleveland, he came here 14 years ago from Scottsdale, Ariz., and was a plumber in the construction business. He was Protestant. BZDAK, JOHN CARL, 82, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Born in Salamanca, N.Y., he moved here 18 years ago from Allegany, N.Y. He was a retired engineer for Dresser Clark and an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. CAMMARATA, JULIA "JULIE" CAMILLE, 81, of Dunnellon, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in East Boston, Mass., she came here 16 years ago from Arlington, Mass. She was in charge of office catalog sales for Sears, was a self-employed seamstress and was an adult education sewing teacher in Cambridge. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she led the ladies' rosary and volunteered at the religious articles store. COLE, FREDERICK C., 76, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Sandy Hook, Conn., he came here 10 years ago from Fenton, Mo. He was a retired field engineer after 40 years with Branjen and Kluge in St. Croix Falls, Wis. He was an Air Force veteran and member of Victorious Believers. GEMMATI, CARLO S., 67, of Spring Hill, died Friday (March 30, 2001) at home. Born in Lackawanna, N.Y., he moved here 15 years ago from West Seneca, N.Y. He retired from Conrail Railroad and the Hernando County School Board. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Italian American Club in Spring Hill, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Veterans of Foreign Wars 10209, and American Legion Post 186. He was a former member of the Knights of St. John, Buffalo, N.Y., and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. GORIE, MARY ELLEN, 68, of Palm Harbor, formerly of Spring Hill, died Friday (March 30, 2001) at Carrington Place, St. Petersburg. She was born in Detroit and moved to Palm Harbor in 1986 from Spring Hill. She was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, and the auxiliaries of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, all of Palm Harbor. KNOTT, BETTY, 74, of Dunnellon, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at home under the care of her family and Hospice of Marion County. Born in Alexandria, Va., she came here 10 years ago from Delray Beach. She was a registered nurse with 35 years of service for several hospitals including being the director of nursing at Doctors Hospital, Lake Worth. She was Episcopalian. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Nick; four sons, Harvey Thomas, Gerald Lewis and Kevin Robert, all of Boynton Beach, and David Andrew, Delray Beach; two daughters, Virginia Lee, Romeo, and Melinda Gottes Flowers, Palm Harbor; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. KOPEC, BARBARA, 51, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (April 1, 2001) at her brother's home in Longwood. WOJEWNICK, HARRY W., 78, of Brookridge, died Sunday (April 1, 2001) at home. He came here 17 years ago from his native Chicago. He was a retired stationary engineer for the Best Foods Co., Steam and Power Division. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209 of Spring Hill and the American Legion Post 186. He was a member of the Brookridge Golf Association, the Illinois Club and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. GILLESPIE, WILLIAM BELMONT "BILL," 70, of Plant City, died Saturday (March 31, 2001) at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in Moulton, Ala., he came here in 1931. He was the owner of Bill Gillespie's Modern Lightning Protection. He taught Sunday school for Fort Alafia Assembly of God and First Pentecostal Church of Brandon. He was an ordained minister active in the Prison Fellowship Ministry and worked at Avon Correctional Institute. He was a member of Promise Keepers. He was retired from the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He received the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four devices and the Humanitarian Service Medal. She retired in 1975 as a supervisor of social workers for the Pinellas County school system. She was appointed as a delegate to the International Conference of Social Work in Munich, Germany, by former Gov. LeRoy Collins. She served on the board of Family Service Centers and Operation PAR and was a child care coordinator. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, the St. Petersburg Human Relations Board, and the regional board of Florida Health Systems Agency. She was the owner of Diana's Maternity Fashions on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg from 1955 to 1987. He came here in 1956 from his native Detroit, where he was the owner of Clifford Maskell Hardware Store. Locally, he was an owner of George and Cliff's Hardware from 1956 until his retirement in 1972. He was a charter member of the former First Missionary Church in St. Petersburg, where he held many offices. He was a member of McKee Lake Alliance Church in Pinellas Park. He was director of the Suncoasters Quartet, which performed in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area for many years. - ROMANO, JACK L., 62, of Tampa, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday (March 30, 2001) at home of cancer. He was an active member of Tampa's business community, a philanthropist and civic leader. A Tampa native, he graduated from H.B. Plant High School in 1956 and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia in 1960. After 25 years in the savings and loan industry, he left his post as senior vice president for Florida Federal Savings of St. Petersburg and Tampa to become the president of Precision Motor Cars Co. His community involvement extended into more than 20 civic and community organizations and many charities, including Tampa General Hospital Foundation and United Way of Greater Tampa.
