A FLASH OF LIGHT AND ALL THAT JAZZ: Inverness Middle School will present "A Flash of Light and All That Jazz" at 7 tonight in the cafetorium. The cafetorium will be transformed into a gallery/coffeehouse and filled with student performances, including the IMS Jazz Band, IMS Show Choir Flame and visual art displays. Special guest is nationally renowned jazz musician Fred Johnson from the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Former IMS Jazz Band members will join the 2000-2001 Jazz Band in a Jazz Band alumni reunion. There will be cappuccino, soda and cookies available, as well as art for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Fine Arts Department. There will be a book fair with proceeds going to the school's media center. Admission is free, although donations would be appreciated.

Shauntrell, 18, has been active in National Honor Society, with the Gasparilla Singers, in vocal Chamber Ensemble and in Concert and Women Choirs. She has been a weightlifter for three years and is in Navy JROTC. She does community service at Wee Care Day Care and at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
