EASTMAN, HARRIET M., 54, of Homosassa, died Monday (April 17, 2000) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. She came here five years ago from her native Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and member of Church of Jesus Christ, Crystal River. Survivors include her husband, Delbert H.; a son, Vernon, Homosassa Springs; a daughter, Essie Stafford, Homosassa; four brothers, Eugene Floyd, Texas, Ralph Floyd, Jacksonville, and Andrew and Leslie Floyd, both of Middleburg; a sister, Aline Butler, Jacksonville; and four grandchildren. HEWITT, JUANITA ANTHONY, 84, of Crystal River, died Monday (April 17, 2000) at home. She came here 25 years ago from her native Anderson, Ind. She worked for General Motors Corp. and was a member of First Assembly of God and the Suncoast Cloggers. Survivors include a son, John W. Parkhurst, Anderson; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. JOHNSON, GRACE E., 84, of Hamilton, Ind., and winter resident of Hernando, died Friday (April 14, 2000). Born in Monroeville, Ind., she was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Butler, Ind., the Garden Club, the Rebecca Lodge and the Pythian Sisters Lodge, all of Hamilton. He was an Army and Navy veteran and member of the Leroy Rooks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4252, Hernando, and the American Legion Post 58, Dunnellon. Born in Sanford, he came here nine years ago from Daytona Beach and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a senior at Springstead High School and a member of its ROTC, the National Honor Society and the Hernando County Sheriff's Explorers Post 409. - HARRIS, JUANITA G., 91, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (April 2, 2000) at Suncoast Manor Health Center. Born in Washington, D.C., she came here in 1966 from New York City, where she was a social worker, serving as executive director of Madison Square Church House. Locally, she owned and managed Holly Motel on Lakeview Avenue S. It now is known as Your Place, a project of the outreach ministry of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church. A member of Cathedral Church of St. Peter, she was an Altar Guild director and a delegate from 1979 to 1985 to the Diocesan Convention. In other church roles, she was a member of the Joint Commission on World Mission, the Third Age Committee and the Diocesan Executive Board of Episcopal Church Women. From 1973 to 1978, she was the first woman to serve as a member-at-large on the Diocesan Council and was the first Diocesan Council representative to the Diocesan Board of Episcopal Church Women. From 1979 to 1984 she served on the Standing Committee of the Diocese, being the first woman and the first African-American to hold the post. In 1981 she was among the original residents of Peterborough Apartments. - KUHL, VICTOR W., 75, Sugarmill Woods, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (April 16, 2000). A St. Petersburg native, he attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of St. Petersburg High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving four years in the South Pacific with the 3rd Marine Division, 21st Marines, on Guadalcanal, Guam, Bougainville and Iwo Jima. An electrical engineer, he worked for Florida Power, St. Petersburg, Watson & Co., Tampa, and Leo Daly Co., Omaha, Neb., and retired in 1989 from General Electric, having worked in New York and Alabama. He moved to Sugarmill Woods in 1989. He received his bachelor's degree in 1950 from University of Florida and was a member of Florida Engineering Society, IEEE of America, Engineering Alumni of University of Florida, General Electric Retirees and ELFUN Society. After 25 years with the St. Petersburg Times, he retired in 1978 as warehouse and building manager at the 34th Street N plant. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
