KNIEPER, JOHN L., 62, of Inverness, died Sunday (April 16, 2000). Born in Ann Arbor, Mich., he came here four months ago from Ypsilanti, Mich., and retired after 33 years as a telephone technician for Ameritech. He was an Army and Navy veteran of the Vietnam era and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Ann Arbor. Survivors include his wife, Betty Barney; three sons, Michael, Howell, Mich., David, Brighton, Mich., and Richard, Whitmore Lake, Mich.; and four grandchildren. OTTO, MURIEL C., of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (April 27, 2000). Born in Stamford, Conn., she came here 16 years ago from East Longmeadow, Mass., and was a retired electrical engineer for the instrument industry. She attended the Beverly Hills Community Church. Survivors include her husband, James; a son, Carl, East Longmeadow; a sister, Emma Moulton, Longmeadow, Mass.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. COUCHER, PHILIP ANDREW, 37, of Spring Hill, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Hernando Hospice House. Born in Croydon, England, he came here four years ago from East Grinstead, England. CALCATERRA, LAURA R., 66, of Tampa, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) in Brandon. Born in Puerto Rico, she came here in 1996 from New York. She was a homemaker. She was Catholic. Survivors include three sons, Alberto Valle, San Diego, Angel Martinez and Efrain Martinez, both of New Jersey; two daughters, Andrea Arias and Linda Valle, both of Tampa; five brothers, Manuel Ruiz, Hollywood, Fla., Rafael Ruiz, Victor Monroig, Jose C. CORRALES, ALBERT, 84, of Tampa, died Friday (April 28, 2000) in Tampa. He was a Tampa native. He worked for several cigar factories as a mojador, which is a type of cigar selector, and retired from the Hillsborough County school district. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Sarah, a daughter, Belinda Castellana, three brothers, Angel Corrales, Cesario Corrales and Jesus Corrales, and two sisters, Eloina Zayas and Dalia Cabrera, all of Tampa. DORDEN, NOAH MICHAEL, infant son of Cathy Elizabeth Dorden of Tampa, died Monday (April 24, 2000) at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital. FAILE, CLARA T., 95, of Plant City, died Friday (April 28, 2000). Born in Opp, Ala., she came to the Tampa area in 1941 from Lancaster, S.C. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Plant City Women's Club, the Garden Club and the East Hillsborough Historic Society. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Plant City. McDANIEL, BENNETT J. JR., 53, of Riverview, died Wednesday (April 26, 2000) in Plant City as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Danville, Va., he came to the Tampa area 21 years ago from West Virginia. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kimmins Contractors. He was Protestant. Survivors include his half-brother, Gerrard McDaniel, Danville; and two sisters, Ellen Ramsey and Bonnie Rhoton, both of Richmond, Va. MIRZA, INAYAT, 88, of Tampa, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Palm Garden of Tampa nursing center. Born in India, she came here 18 years ago from Pakistan. She was a homemaker. She was Muslim. Survivors include five sons, Tazneem, Tampa, Sharista, Liburn, Ga., Shamim, Naples, Arshad, Atlanta, and Saleem, Coral Springs; five daughters, Shamima Bahattie, Palatka, Nasim Bahattie, Orlando, and Farzana Mirza, Sultana Mirza and Rehana Tenveer, all of Lahore, Pakistan; 35 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. MOFFITT, EARLE WEBB, 58, of Lutz, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at home. Born in Greenwich, Conn., he came to the Tampa area in the early 1970s from Kentucky. He was an attorney. PALMER, LESTER EDWARD, 89, of Sun City Center, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at Plaza West Health Care Center. Born in Bayport, Minn., he came to the Tampa area in 1983 from Mason, Mich. He was a retired sales representative for a window manufacturing company. He was Christian. BISCI, JOHN, 79, of Port Richey, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at home. He came here 27 years ago from his native New York, where he was retired as a sergeant for the New York Police Department. He was a retired safety engineer for Florida Power and an investigator for the Department of Consumer Affairs for Pasco County. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Port Richey, and VFW 6180, Hudson. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; three daughters, Ann Bowen and Rosalyn Fenton, both of New Port Richey, and Susan Bonkowski, Belleville, Mich.; two brothers, Rudolph and Dr. Alfred, both of Staten Island, N.Y.; a sister, Gloria Samalot, Staten Island; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. DeGRACE, GWENDOLYN C., 75, of Port Richey, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at home. Born in Gouverneur, N.Y., she came here 22 years ago from Utica, N.Y., and was a retired waitress. DERMONDY, LORA WARD, 47, of New Port Richey, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Community Hospital New Port Richey. She came here 40 years ago from her native Perry, Mich. She was Methodist. HAGEL, EDWIN W., 90, of Hudson, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice of Hudson. Born in Newark, N.J., he came here 27 years ago from Brooklyn, N.Y., and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, VFW Post 6180 and American Legion Post 7, Clearwater. Survivors include two sons, Edwin, Glendale, N.Y., and Donald, Bricktown, N.J.; a daughter, Priscilla Flanagan, Dix Hills, N.Y.; two brothers, Norman and Albert, both of New Port Richey; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. HARDWICK, LOY LEE JR., 44, of Zephyrhills, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He came here four years ago from his native Dumas, Texas, and was a painter for Wheel Blast Inc., Zephyrhills. He attended Zephyrhills First Assembly of God Church. HAZARD, LENA G., 91, of Port Richey, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at Amber Woods. Born in Cortland, N.Y., she came here 29 years ago from New York, and was retired owner-operator of a grocery store. She was life member of the YMCA, Cortland, a member of Community Congregational Church and a charter member of University Women of Pasco and West Pasco Historical Society. PETERSON, KENNETH D., 79, of Bayonet Point, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Logansport, Ind., he came here 10 years ago from Orchard Lake, Mich., and was an aeronautical engineer for the Ford Motor Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. STECKER, LILA MAE, 76, of Holiday, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Delhi, La., she came here 27 years ago from Freeport, N.Y., and was a real estate agent for Russ Spirtos Realty, Tarpon Springs. She was a member of Church on the Bayou Presbyterian Church, Tarpon Springs. TYSAR, JENNIE, 84, of Hudson, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Montreal, she came here 30 years ago from Cheboygan, Mich., and was retired owner of Tysar Bakery, Detroit. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a Catholic. - HARTLEY, MATTHEW JOHN, 32, of Winters, Calif., formerly of Clearwater, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at home. He was born in Troy, Ohio, and came to Clearwater as a child. He moved to California in 1988. He worked at Classic Video and was a volunteer AIDS educator. He was a circulation manager for the St. Petersburg Independent and St. Petersburg Times. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Anona United Methodist Church, Largo, and VFW Post 10094, Indian Rocks Beach. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Elaine; a son, Albert Wayne, Cooper City; two daughters, Karen E. Heaston, Greenwood, Ind., and Cheryl R. Cohee, Coral Springs; a sister, Ruth E. He came here in 1987 from his native Beverly, Mass. where he was a supervisor of utilities for Boston Gas Co. for 42 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geraldine; two sons, Thomas E., Danvers, Mass., and David A., Beverly; a daughter, Cheryl A. - TAYLOR, FRANCIS R., 90, of Largo, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Wilmington, Del., and came here in 1995 from West Palm Beach.
