BIGGS, DOROTHY F., 73, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Cypress Cove Care Center, Crystal River. Born in England, she came here 11 years ago from St. Petersburg, and was a retired legal secretary. She was a member of the Church of England. SNYDER, JOSEPH, 82, of Inverness, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Mariner Health of Inverness. Born in Jamaica, N.Y., he came here six months ago from West Edmeston, N.Y., and was a retired plumber. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Mary Crisco; a son, Joseph Jr., Inverness; two brothers, Philip, Sharon Springs, N.Y., and James, Albany, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Chas. E. TRAIL, ALICE MARIE, 77, of Homosassa, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at home. Born in McDowell County, W.Va., she came here 16 years ago from Saline, Mich., and was a retired nurse's aide. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, its choir and Women's Missionary Group. Survivors include her husband, Herman; four sons, Carl, Kingsport, Tenn., John, Lexington, N.C., Jerry, Milan, Mich., and George, Homosassa; a daughter, Shelia Senard, Homosassa; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. PIETRZYK, WALTER JOSEPH, 85, of Spring Hill, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at home. Born in Hamtramck, Mich., he came here 17 years ago from Westland, Mich., and was retired from General Electric. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 6383. BETITA-COLLINS, ALICIA VILLANUEVA, 50, of Valrico, died Tuesday (April 25, 2000) in St. Petersburg as the result of injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Arroyo Grande, Calif., she came to the Tampa area in 1981 from Hawaii. She was a flight nurse, BSN, CEN and an EMT-P. She was a member of the Barotac Nuevo Association of America, the Reserve Officer's Association, the American Legion in Arroyo Grande, the NFNA, the FNA, and Nativity Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Christopher Biddles, and a daughter, Felicia Biddles, both of Brandon; her parents, Benny and Lilia Betita, Arroyo Grande; and two sisters, Louisa Betita-Maher and Lita Hickey, both of Hawaii. HODSON-EVANS, MILDRED L., of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Tampa, died Saturday (April 8, 2000) in Green Valley. Born in Melrose, Mass., she lived in Tampa from 1969 to 1989, having come from Massachusetts. She was a homemaker. She was Protestant. HUDSON, GEORGE FREDERICK JR., 57, of Seffner, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in McKeesport, Pa., he came to the Tampa area in 1980 from Penn, Pa. He was a truck dispatcher for W.W. Trucking. He served in the Air Force and was Catholic. PRITT, CHARLES RAY SR., 62, of Lutz, died Friday (April 28, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Rand, W.Va., he came to the Tampa area in 1964 from West Virginia. He was a truck driver and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Temple Terrace Masonic Lodge No. 330. He was Protestant. RHEAULT, ROSAIRE J., 73, of Tampa, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Hilliard Township, Ontario, he came to Tampa in 1984 from Bridgewater, Mass. He was a field mechanic for commercial stainless steel equipment and a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1741. He was Catholic. RODRIGUEZ, DANNY, 55, of Tampa, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at Memorial Hospital. He was a Tampa native and an acquisition specialist for the city of Tampa. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a founding member of the Krewe of Fort Brooke. Survivors include his wife, Vilma A.; two sons, Rodney, Tampa, and Phillip, Alaska; a daughter, Tammy Rodriguez, Tampa; three sisters, Norma Swain, Marie Rodriguez and Bertha Rodriguez, all of Tampa; and five grandchildren. STOVALL, WALLY, 53, of Tampa, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at home. He was a Tampa native and an administrator for Knight and Wall Hardware Co. He served in the Navy and was Protestant. TIMM, LANCE CARL, 60, of Valrico, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at University Community Hospital. Born in Stone Lake, Wis., he came to the Tampa area in 1977 from Germany. BREEDEN, EDDIE DEAN, 38, of Lacoochee, died Thursday (April 27, 2000). He was born in Lacoochee and was a mechanic for Dean's Service Garage. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. Born in New York, she came here three years ago from Clearwater, and was a retired secretary for the Borough of Queens, N.Y. She was Jewish and active in the Democratic Party, New York. MULLER, PETRONELLA WILHELMINA VANDER KRUIK, 86, of Port Richey, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Windsor Woods Convalescent Center. She came here 17 years ago from Livingston, N.J., and was a retired music teacher and medical secretary. She was Presbyterian. STONE, IRVING I., 81, of Spring Hill, died Thursday (April 27, 2000) at home. Born in Rochester, N.Y., he came here 13 years ago from Randolph, N.J., and was owner/operator of Irving Stone Insurance Agency. He was an Army lieutenant in World War II and was Jewish. TYSAR, JENNIE, 91, of Hudson, Friday (April 28, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Montreal, she came here 30 years ago from Cheboygan, Mich., and was retired owner of Tysar Bakery, Detroit, Mich. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic. VERKITUS, DONALD JR. "DUCKY," 37, of Hudson, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Hernando/Pasco Hospice House. He came here two months ago from his native Central Islip, N.Y., and was a tree surgeon for Tree Guys, Deer Park, N.Y. He attended St. Michael Catholic Church, Hudson, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. BARFIELD, NANCY, 61, of Clearwater, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She came here in 1960 from her native Jacksonville. She was a private duty registered nurse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater and the Christian Women's Club. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, G. CALLAHAN, IRENE KATHRYN, 85, of Chicago Heights, Ill., formerly of Clearwater, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Chicago Heights. She was born in Hammond, Ind., and lived here several years before moving to Chicago Heights. She owned and operated Callahan Catering. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Dunedin, the church choir, and altar and rosary societies and was a member of the Florida Daughters of Isabella Knights of Columbus. She was named Ms. Congeniality at the Senior Ms. Florida Pageant in 1990. MACY, LORING K., 92, of Clearwater, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. He came here in 1988 from his native Searsboro, Iowa. He worked for the federal government as director of the Bureau of Foreign Commerce. He was a member of Sylvan Abbey United Methodist Church of Clearwater and the Lynnville Friends Church. SHANLEY, JOHN A., 75, of Clearwater, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was born in Pottstown, Pa., and came here in 1985 from Pittsburgh, where he retired as payroll manager and tax specialist after 15 years with Allaghaney International. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Lutheran and was coordinator of the USS Blueridge Reunion. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce; two sons, Bruce, Cincinnati, and Brian, Pittsburgh; a daughter, Janet Hensley, Pittsburgh; three brothers, William, Edward and Donald, and four sisters, Martha Brightbill, Betty Levengood, Dawn Baldwin and Marlene Schrum, all of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren. SROCZYNSKI, ZYGMUNT, 91, of Clearwater Beach, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He was born in Obrewalde, Poland, and came here in 1979 from Irvington, N.J., where he owned and operated a laundry. During World War II, he was arrested as a member of the underground, and after his release, he worked to resettle refugees. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church of Clearwater Beach, an officer in the American Institute of Polish Culture, Pinellas Park, and a member of Polish Institute of Arts & Sciences of America. Survivors include his of 53 years, Helena, Cranford, N.J.; two sons, Richard, Piscataway, N.J., and Adam, Ramsey, N.J.; a sister, Iza Helinska of Poland; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. VECCHIONE, CATHERINE V., 88, of Clearwater, died Thursday (April 20, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She came here in 1996 from her native Orange, N.J., and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Clearwater. Survivors include four daughters, Terry Christiano, Oldsmar, Gail Conti, Rockledge, Claire Siegmund, Morris Plains, N.J., and Diane Densmore, Horton, Mich.; two sons, Ronald, New Port Richey, and Jack, Aiken, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. WACHTER, EDGAR J., 94, of Clearwater, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Palm Garden of Clearwater nursing home. He was born in Media, Pa., and came here in 1970 from Salem, N.J. He worked as an operator for 30 years with the Atlantic City, N.J., Electric Co. He was Lutheran and a president of the Y Men's Club. There are no known survivors. National Cremation Society, Largo.

- JACOBSEN, JOHN J., 91, of Dunedin, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at the home of a son in Oldsmar. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and came here in 1980 from Long Island, N.Y. He retired as senior engineer with Con Edison and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Alice, a son, John P. - KEANY, LaVERNE R., 88, of Dunedin, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. She was born in Kittanning, Pa., and came here in 1974 from New Castle, Pa. She was a bookkeeper and worked 15 years with Bell Telephone Co., Pittsburgh, and five years for ALCOA in New Castle. He came here in 1963 from his native Scotland and worked as a millwright operator for an automotive company. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church of Dunedin and the Ranger Supporters Club and was a Mason. - ELM, RICHARD G., 81, of Indian Rocks Beach, formerly of Tampa, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Rochester, Pa., and came to Tampa in 1946 from Beaver Falls, Pa. He owned property in Indian Rocks Beach since 1977, and in 1985, he moved here. He was a civil engineer and worked for the railroad for 40 years designing and building railroad tracks and bridges. He was appointed commissioner for one term in 1987 and had attended Indian Rocks Beach City Commission meetings since 1979. He was a member of the Taxpaying Property Owners Association, Homeowners Association and Gulf Beaches Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Indian Rocks Area Historical Society and president and former director of the Historical Museum of Indian Rocks Beach. While in Tampa, he was active in Boy Scout Troop 4, a deacon of the First Baptist Church and president of the building committee of the Tampa Baptist Manor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks Beach and active in Florida Campers on Mission. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Irene; a son, Richard G., and a daughter, Melissa E. - BATISTA, JOSEPH P., 63, of Largo, died Wednesday (April 26, 2000) at Sun Coast Hospital, Largo. He was born in Indian Orchard, Mass., and came here in 1990 from Massachusetts. He worked as a sales manager for Rubber Stamp Manufacturing. Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary; a son, Joseph P. Jr., and a daughter, Mary Rose Batista, all of Largo. - McKENZIE, CHESTER H., 65, of Largo, died Wednesday (April 26, 2000) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Lynx, Ohio, and came here in 1970 from St. Petersburg. He retired from the City of Largo as a firefighter. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Jane E.; four sons, Terry and David, both of Florida, Kris of Georgia, and Kyle of Virginia; a daughter, Vicky Karr of Florida; a stepson, Charles Durilla, Largo; a stepdaughter, Sheila Bennett, Tampa; a sister, Martha Freeland, New Carlisle, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. - STOCKMAN, GEORGE W., 64, of Largo, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He came here in 1962 from his native Plympton, Mass., and moved to Tuskegee, Ala., in 1972. He lived there until this year when he moved back to Largo. He worked from 1970 to 1972 for the city of Largo as a meter reader. He was a veteran of the Korean War. - KRUMMEL, BERNARD A., 92, of Palm Harbor, formerly of Clearwater, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He came to Clearwater in 1962 from his native Akron, Ohio, where he was a Realtor and owned and operated Krummel Real Estate & Insurance Co. In 1988 he moved to Palm Harbor from Harbor Bluffs. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Clearwater, and a past faithful navigator of Knights of Columbus Largo Council. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Helen M.; a daughter, Patricia Geyer, Clearwater; a son, Robert, Stone Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Rita Malecky, Akron; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. - BERTONE, ARLONE P., 74, of Seminole, died Friday (April 28, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was born in Chicago and came here in 1956 from Minneapolis. She was homemaker and a member of the Czechoslovakian American Society. Survivors include a daughter, Arlone McDermond, and two grandsons, Anthony B. and Frankie D. McDermond, all of Seminole. E. - MILLER, JUSTIN DANIEL, 19, of Seminole, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) as the result of an accident at the entrance to Bardmoor Estates on Starkey Road. He was a native of St. Petersburg and worked as a sales representative at Circuit City. He attended Osceola High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks. Survivors include his mother, Kay E. Miller, Seminole; two sisters, Jennifer K. Miller, Pinellas Park, and Janelle Kristin Miller, Seminole; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Gillespie, and his paternal grandmother, Mildred D. HALL, JAMES H. "JIMMY," SR., 71, of Pinellas Park, died Saturday (April 29, 2000) at St. Anthony's Hospital. Born in Kosse, Texas, he came here in 1964 from Long Island, N.Y. Locally, he retired as the director of printing at Eckerd College after 19 years of service and then worked as a greeter at the Pinellas Park Wal-Mart. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church. An Army veteran of the World War II, he also served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 125, Gulfport. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen A. A licensed practical nurse, she worked at VA Medical Center at Bay Pines for several years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and formerly participated in the Lupus Foundation.
