Citrus County math field day results
HOMOSASSA SPRINGS -- On Friday, dozens of Citrus County high school students competed in Math Field Day at the West Citrus Elks Lodge. Middle and elementary schools participated in Math Field Day on Saturday at Crystal River High School. Trophies were presented to the winning schools -- Citrus High School, Crystal River and Citrus Springs middle schools, which tied in the middle school division, and Floral City Elementary School -- at Tuesday's School Board meeting.

PHI THETA KAPPA BRINGS HOME HALLMARK AWARDS: Central Florida Community College was represented by 11 members of the Ocala campus Kappa Nu chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at the recent 83rd International PTK Convention in Denver, Colo. They competed with 430 chapters for Hallmark Awards. The awards recognize excellence in programs and projects that promote the Phi Theta Kappa hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.

Letter carriers' annual effort to collect food on Saturday
On Saturday the National Association of Letter Carriers in Citrus County and all over the country will collect donated food to distribute to community food pantries. The United Way of Citrus County and Citrus County Harvest is joining in the sponsorship of this program.
