Yesterday made me think about our relationship more than usual. I know Mother's Day is not just like any other day to you. I believe there are certain expectations you have of me everyday, but on this day I feel the pressure is even greater. I struggle with telling you that I love you and I often act as if I don't want you to touch me. I look around and see other people my age seemingly being okay with their moms. I am somewhat confused as to how that is possible, especially when I see them together laughing and having fun. Sometimes I am envious, but most of the time I am just curious. I tell myself that no matter how it is with my peers and their moms, our relationship is strained.
