WORON, WALTER R., 81, of Inverness, died Thursday (May 11, 2000) at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. Born in Ansonia, Conn., he came here 20 years ago from Shelton, Conn., and was a retired control room operator for Northeast Electric Utilities. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Inverness, King Hiram Masonic Lodge 12, Shelton, the Scottish Rite-Valley of Bridgeport and Pyramid Shrine Temple, Milford, Conn. Born in Olyphant, Pa., he came eight years ago from Eastpoint, Mich., and was a self-employed toolmaker for the automotive industry. She was a lifelong area resident and taught 34 years in the Pinellas County School System at Chase Memorial Union Academy, Pinellas High School, and Clearwater Comprehensive and Kennedy middle schools. She co-owned and operated Larkins Funeral Home, Clearwater. She graduated in 1941 from Florida A&M College, Tallahassee. She was a member of Morticians Ladies Auxiliary, Phi Delta Kappa, Tarpon Springs OES, and the National and Florida Retired Teachers Association. She was married for 50 years to David T. Larkins. McCLAMMA, WILLIAM H., 74, of Clearwater, died Friday (May 12, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He came here in 1927 from his native Madison. He retired in 1981 after six months as police chief and 35 years with the Clearwater Police Department. He was a member and deacon of Skycrest Baptist Church, Clearwater, served on the Skycrest Christian School board of directors and was a member of the Police Benevolent Association. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Arlene; a son, Michael, Clearwater; a daughter, Lori Upton, Dunedin; a sister, Eva Stewart, Hernando; and two grandchildren. She came here in 1953 from her native Muskegon, Mich., and worked as secretary to the secretary of chief of staff of the U.S. Army in Germany. Locally, she worked at Honeywell, Largo. - COOK, GEORGE, 82, of North Redington Beach, died Thursday (May 11, 2000) at Sun Coast Hospital, Largo. Born in London, England, he came to this area in 1991 from England. He was an Episcopalian. During World War II, he was with the British Royal Marines on the HMS Cornwall heavy cruiser. He spent three days in the Pacific Ocean when Japanese pilots sunk his ship. He was a caterer for Hollywood celebrities for several years and was Cary Grant's butler for a year. He retired as a beverage manager for a hotel. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary; two sons, Malcolm K., Blairsville, Ga., and Robert C., St. Cloud; two brothers, Sid, Walnut, Calif., and Jim, Zimbabwe; a sister, Joan Munns, Paso Robles, Calif.; and four grandchildren. - BOONE, MELVIN E., 75, of Inverness, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (May 11, 2000). Born in Miami, he moved to Inverness 22 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was a carpenter for the construction industry. A Navy veteran, he was a life member of VFW Post 4252, Hernando. He was Baptist. - BROWN, MARTHA BEE, 56, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 13, 2000) at home under the care of hospice. Born in Jonestown, Miss., she recently moved to St. Petersburg from Chambersburg, Pa., and was a nursing assistant for Home Health Care. She was a member of Gateway Ministry Church of God. She was active in the Prison and Missionary Ministry. - BULLARD, RICHARD D., 56, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 13, 2000) at home. He came here in 1945 from his native Knoxville, Tenn. He was a draftsman with Rodney Parris Design Group and formerly with the Montgomery Watson of Tampa for 33 years. He was a member of the Metropolitan King of Peace Church, where he was active with the church bingo and was formerly a church deacon. He also was a volunteer with a crisis hotline. - CLEVELAND, CATHERINE E., 55, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 13, 2000) at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg. She came here at an early age from her native Savannah, Ga. Locally, she attended Gibbs High School and was in the housekeeping department for Don Ce Sar Beach Resort and Spa. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. - ERCOLANI, DOMINIC J. "SKIP," 64, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (May 12, 2000) at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Furlong, Pa., he came here in 1971 from Hatboro, Pa., where he was a farmer. Locally, he worked for the Pinellas County School Board and retired as plant foreman at Meadowlawn Middle School, where he served for 28 years. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. He had excelled in archery and at the age of 19 achieved the Bear's Shooting Star award. - FEOLA, JOHN ANTHONY, 57, of Seminole, died Friday (May 12, 2000) at home. He was born in Charleston, W.Va., and came here in 1968 from Cape Canaveral. He worked for more than 30 years as a group leader at Honeywell and was a member of the Navy Reserves. He was Catholic and an avid CB operator with the handle West Virginia Boy. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Carolyn; a son, John A. II, Nashua, N.H.; his mother, Vincenzia Feola, Melbourne; a brother, Salvatore, Charleston; and two grandchildren.
