Serbia's freedoms dissolving
Last week, Slobodan Milosevic struck another blow against his own people. Armed government goons stormed the Belgrade headquarters of Studio B, the only independent national television station to survive the war, and pulled the plug. Serbian police also shut down Yugoslavia's highest-circulation newspaper, Blic, and several other television and radio stations. When they were finished, only one small independent station, Radio Pancevo, was still on the air -- and their managers feared they would be next.
