  • ABBE, FREDERICK M. JR., 63, of Homosassa, died Friday (May 26, 2000) at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he came here 29 years ago from Daytona Beach and worked for the Citrus County School District. He was Catholic. Survivors include a son, James Frederick "Chipper," Hernando; three daughters, Wendy Treadway, Jacksonville, Rose Marie Abbe Pittman, Finger, Tenn., and Loretta Lucene Abbe Reid, Monticello, Miss.; a brother, Wayne, Maggie Valley, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.   • CLARKE, STUART H. SR., 75, of Riverhaven, Homosassa, died Tuesday (May 30, 2000) at North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville. Born in Stamford, Conn., he came here 17 years ago from Awali, Bahrain, and was a retired regional director with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Dallas. He was Protestant. He was the first personnel director at the NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, and team leader responsible for the selection of the original Gemini astronauts. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of the Crystal River Loyal Order of Moose, the Friends of the Library, and the Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; a son, Stuart Jr., Seattle; two daughters, Deborah Belichick, Long Island, N.Y., and Kim Allen, Orlando; and six grandchildren.   • MEAHL, CALVIN B., 72, of Inverness, died Sunday (May 28, 2000). Born in Pittsburgh, he came here 32 years ago from Alexandria, Va. He retired from Lovell Brothers NAPA with 24 years of service and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Inverness, also its former Sunday School director and teacher, usher, member of the Baptism committee, Baptist Men, the Sunrise Sunday school class and the nominating committee. Survivors include his wife, Colleen Hall; two sons, Jeffrey B. and Gregory W., both of Inverness, two brothers, Eugene Jr., Inverness, and Charles P., Alexandria; and five grandchildren. He was a Purple Heart recipient and was awarded five Battle Stars. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Delores; a son, Stephen, Des Plaines, Ill.; a daughter, Sue Ann Prunt, West Alice, Wis.; three brothers, Jake, Truman, Minn., and Albert and Harold, both of Milwaukee; a sister, Louella, Walters, Juno, Wis.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.     • JOHNSON, ANNETTE M., 65, of New Port Richey, formerly of Seminole, died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson. She was born in Beechhurst, N.Y., and moved to New Port Richey in 1989 from Seminole, where she worked as a secretary for 20 years at Seminole Middle School. She was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include her husband, Harold; a daughter, Karen Conkel, Bradenton; her mother, Helen Wulff, New Port Richey; a brother, John W. Wulff, Salisbury, Md.; and a twin sister, Amelia Mullen, Alexandria, Va. Morgan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Port Richey.
    • JONES, GERALD THOMAS, 52, of Seminole, died Monday (May 29, 2000) at Shands at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He was born in Indianapolis and came here in 1993 from Danville, Ind. He worked as a metal framer for a construction company. He was Baptist. Survivors include a son, Shawn McDaniel, Bradenton; two daughters, Jackie Hubbard, Indianapolis, and Tara Nar, Bloomington, Ind.; his mother, Margaret Helen Lieske, Seminole; a brother, William F., St. Petersburg; a sister, Phyllis Jane Coates, Wake Forest, N.C.; and two grandchildren.     • TOBIAS, ASHLEY ANN, infant daughter of Elizabeth and Noel Tobias of Seminole, died Wednesday (May 24, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. Besides her parents, survivors include a brother, Kyle, Seminole; her maternal grandparents, Maureen and Richard Granger, Seminole; her paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Joseph and Margo Tobias, Seminole; her paternal grandmother, Penelope Tobias, Seminole; her maternal great-grandparents, Catherine and Lewis Granger, Lynn, Mass.; and her paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Wallace, Seminole.
