BENNETT, NORMA CHRISTINA, 79, of Inverness, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born in New York, she came here 30 years ago from New Jersey. She was a Lutheran. Survivors include her husband, George E.; a daughter, Brenda DeMelio, Crystal River; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline Snider, New Jersey; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Chas. E. GRANT, WALTER RAYMOND "BUSTER," 73, of Homosassa, died Tuesday (May 30, 2000). He came here 14 years ago from his native Hudson, Mass., and was retired after 23 years as a truck driver for Inland Express. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Protestant and a member of the Military Order of Cooties Post 68, VFW Post 8189, Homosassa, American Legion Post 159, Crystal River, Moose Lodge 2013, past commander VFW and Amvets 208, Local 170 Retirees Chapter, the Homosassa Crime Watch and a volunteer for Connell Heights Fire Department, Hudson, Mass. Survivors include his wife, Kay Frances Crymer; three sons, Wayne and David Grant, both of Marlboro, Mass., and Donald Bullock, Saddlebrook, N.J.; five daughters, Pamela Mix, Sheryl Height and Lisa Grant, all of Marlboro, Rebecca Long, Long Beach, N.J., and Kimberly Bonora, Oceanport, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. HOOKS, JOE W., 89, of Lecanto, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at home. Born in Warthen, Ga., he came here six years ago from Rockville Center, N.Y., and was a retired tugboat engineer and dock master for Point Lookout, N.Y. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Homosassa, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Guiding Light Lodge, Uniondale, N.Y., and the Scottish Rite. Survivors include a son, George, Livonia, Mich.; a daughter, Nancy Galzerano, Lecanto; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Heinz Funeral Home, Inverness.

HOULE, WILLIAM ROGER SR., 62, of Lecanto, died Thursday (June 1, 2000). Born in Burlington, Vt., he came here nine years ago from Brooklyn, Conn., and was a retired construction worker. He was a Catholic and a guitar player for many bands. Survivors include a son, Phillip, Lecanto; a brother, Roger, Connecticut; seven sisters, Jane Ferguson, Lecanto, Linda Provost, Homosassa, Theresa Trotter and Beverly Johnson, both of Connecticut, Rita Simard and Catherine Somers, both of Vermont, and Harriet Sargent, Kentucky. McKENRY, GLADYS E., 77, of Lecanto, died Saturday (June 3, 2000). Born in Charlottesville, Va., she came here from Baltimore and was a retired day care worker. She was a member of New Covenant Church of Homosassa Springs. CHRISTIANS, WILLIAM P., formerly of Spring Hill, died Wednesday (May 31, 2000) at Westside Regional Hospital, Plantation. He was born in Garfield, N.J., and was retired after 31 years with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, William and Kenneth Greene, both of Plantation, and Fred, Toms River, N.J.; a daughter, Sharon Puzie, Plantation; a brother, Charles, New Hampshire; a sister, Pauline Stirba, New Jersey; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. HUGHES, LAWRENCE J., 72, of Timber Pines, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Oak Hill Hospital. Born in Chicago, he came here 14 years ago from Naperville, Ill., and was retired after 35 years as a senior industrial engineer for AT&T. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Spring Hill, the Timber Pines Golf Club and American Legion Post 80, Downers Grove, Ill. NORTON, THOMAS LAMAR, 86, of Spring Hill, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Hospice House Brooksville. Born in Austell, Ga., he came here 43 years ago from Jacksonville and was a retired electrician. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, East Spring Hill. Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sons, Stanley and Thomas, both of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. REEVES, LOIS W., 78, of Spring Hill, formerly of Pinellas Park, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) under hospice care. Born in Cleveland, she came here in 1968 from Warren, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a Coast Guard veteran. She was Protestant. Survivors include three sons, Richard L. and Terry Lee, both of St. Petersburg, and David A., Lincolnton, N.C.; a sister, Lucille Linden, Brooksville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. ALFONSO, STEVEN IAN, 21, of Ocala, formerly of Tampa, died Saturday (May 20, 2000). A Tampa native, he moved to Ocala from Bushnell about a year ago. He worked as an automotive technician for Nissan of Ocala. ALVERSON, ALBERT OWEN, 77, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at home under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born in Washington, D.C., he lived in the Tampa area most of his life. He was the founder of Alverson's Auto Repairs and a member of North Rome Baptist Church. BARTON, SUE, 67, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Bolivar, Tenn., she came here in 1989 from Memphis, Tenn. COLE, CLYDE V., 71, of Dover, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at home. Born in Louisville, Ky., he came to the Tampa area in 1983 from Clearwater. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant after 22 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn; a son, Greg, Gulf County, a sister, Karen N. CRAWFORD, ROBERT, 82, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Land O'Lakes. Born in Alloa, Scotland, he came here in 1947 from Scotland. He was a mechanic and a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Fisher, Neptune Beach, and Roberta Lockard, Land O'Lakes; two sisters, Lillian Branch, Redington Shores, and Margaret Cann, Tampa; a brother, David Crawford, Rockland, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. DISALVO, SOLEDAD, 85, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at home. She was a Tampa native and a homemaker. She was Pentecostal. HARTMAN, STEPHEN J., 50, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Vencor Hospital. He came here in 1984 from his native Tiffin, Ohio. LOSADA, PRUDENCIO, 81, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Las Villas, Cuba, he came here 30 years ago from Cuba. He retired from a textile company as a supervisor. He was a member of the Cuban Civic Club. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two sons, Luis, Tampa, and Prudencio, Orlando; a brother, Armando, Cuba; and three grandchildren. MURPHREE, MARY VIRGINIA, 78, of Tampa, died Monday (May 29, 2000) at Hospice House Florida in Brooksville. Born in Vindex, Md., she came here several years ago from Oakland, Md. NORIEGA, WILLIAM, 51, of Tampa, died Wednesday (May 31, 2000) at home. He was a Tampa native and lived in Fort Lauderdale and Tampa. He served in the Navy and was a former air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Authority. CLAYTON, STANLEY, 86, of Port Richey, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Windsor Woods Convalescent Center, Hudson. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was a 24-year winter resident here from Buffalo, N.Y., and was a leader in the Teamsters Union. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. FROEHLE, CARL M., of Bayonet Point, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at National Health Care, Hudson. Born in Cincinnati, he came here 23 years ago and was self employed in designing church altars and a seller of Catholic church supplies. He was a charter member of the Beacon Woods Golf Club and Eucharistic minister at Bayonet Point Hospital and St. Michael Catholic Church. GREEN, FREDERICK J., 78, of Port Richey, died Saturday (May 27, 2000) at Forest Glen Lodge, New Port Richey. Born in London, Ontario, he came here 22 years ago from Dearborn, Mich., and was a police officer for the Dearborn Police Department. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Port Richey. NELSON, BETTY SUE, 67, of New Port Richey, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. She was a visitor from her native Rome, Ga., and was a pharmaceutical assistant. ROCCO, VITO S. "BILL," 82, of Holiday, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Community Hospital New Port Richey. Born in New York City, he came here 20 years ago from Trenton, N.J., and was a production planner for the DeLaval Turbine Co., New Jersey. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Trenton. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Kathleen Hagaman, Odessa; two sisters, Lena Caserta, Trenton, and Jean Reino, Millburn, N.J.; and two grandsons. RYBKA, KATHE ELSE FRIEDA, 81, of Zephyrhills, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at East Pasco Medical Center. Born in Guidendorf, Germany, she was a visitor here for five weeks coming from Ulm, Germany. She was a retired government office worker and a Lutheran. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World World II, a clothing salesman for Lord and Taylor and a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater.   • NEIL, SAMUEL J., 89, of Clearwater, died Thursday (May 18, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He came to here in 1920 from his native Dothan , Ala. He was a Navy veteran, a member of First Assembly of God, Clearwater, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk for many years. Survivors include his wife, Agnes W.; two sisters, Nettie Mizell, Largo, and Vera May Nance, Lexington, N.C.; six stepchildren; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.   • SEGLIN, ADELIA P. "DOLLY," 66, of Clearwater, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at St. John's Health System, Anderson, Ind. She was born in Arnold, Pa., and moved to Clearwater, where she lived until one month ago. She worked as a medical librarian for 18 years at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, after working at Marion VA Hospital and St. John's Hospital, Anderson, Pa. She was a graduate of Arnold High School, Arnold, Pa., Clarion State Teachers College and received her master's degree in library science from Ball State University.   • KNACKSTEDT , LEROY E., 70, of Largo, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was born in Windem, Kan., and moved to Largo in 1990 from Springfield, Mo. He worked as a structural steel salesman for Schill Steel Co., Springfield, Mo., was a member of Missouri Avenue Baptist Church, Clearwater, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 and past commander of Chapter 143, Largo. He was also a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Madeira Beach and the 32nd Infantry Regiment Association. Survivors include his wife, Ruby J.   • JORDAN, DONALD LIBBY "DON," 82, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at home. He came here in 1920 from his native Waterville, Maine. He worked as a real estate appraiser for A.B. Fogerty for 30 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle and was a member of St. Petersburg Yacht Club, St. Petersburg Chess Club and Real Estate Appraisers Association. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jane B.; a daughter, Janet Baker, Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Mark V. Jordan, Littleton, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Miller and Jane Huber, both of St. Petersburg; a stepson, Michael Crowell, Orlando; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.   • THURZ, CORA LOUISE, 79, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (May 30, 2000) at Westminster Shores Health Center. Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., she came here in 1982 from Cranford, N.J. She was a homemaker and Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Mantek, Texas; a brother, Louis Wester, Georgia; a granddaughter, Brenda Sparaco, Kansas; and two great-grandchildren.   • WHITECOTTON, DOROTHY M., 75, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute, St. Petersburg. Born in Philadelphia, she came here in 1953 from Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, John C. Guss, St. Petersburg; two nephews, John C.
