BAUKNIGHT, GENOA, 71, of Jacksonville, formerly of Citrus and Sumter counties, died Thursday (June 1, 2000) at Baptist Medical Center. He moved to Jacksonville seven years ago from his native Homosassa. He was retired from the lawn maintenance business and was a commercial fisherman. Survivors include a son, Genoa, Ozello; a daughter, Donna Cadwell, Chipley; two stepsons, Ronnie and Jack Lanier, both of Floral City; two brothers, Joe, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ward, Oldtown; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. MORRIS, SARAH M., 95, of Inverness, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Mariner Health Care Center. Born in Shawsville, Pa., she came here four years ago from DuBois, Pa., and was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of DuBois. BURGER, RAY SR., 80, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at home. Born in Woodbury, Pa., he came here in 1983 from California. He was an electronics technician and a member of the order of the DeMolay. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He received the American Theater Medal, the Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Survivors include his wife, Grace; two sons, Raymond W. Jr., Canyon Country, Calif., and Donald J., Roy, Utah; a daughter, Thelma Anderson, Tampa; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. HARTMAN, RUTH D., 74, of Plant City, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Plant City. Born in Elkins, W.Va., she came to the Tampa area in 1975 from Warren, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. McDONALD, GLORIA J., 54, of Lutz, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Lutz. A Tampa native, she returned to the Tampa area in 1977 from South Dakota. She was a secretary for Austin Septic Systems. O'DONOHUE, MARGARET VAN VAERENBERGH, 98, of Tampa, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Ninove, Belgium, she came here in 1917 from Largo. She was a secretary for a law firm and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. BELL, DOROTHY ELIZABETH, 79, of Bayonet Point, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Port Chester, N.Y., she came here 28 years ago from St. Petersburg, and was a registered nurse for Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Survivors include her husband, Douglas; three sons, Douglas Jr. and Michael, both of St. Petersburg, and Kevin, Bayonet Point; a daughter, Karen Bell, Bayonet Point; a sister, Betty Jane Merchant, Allendale, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. GERNER, AGNES CAROLINE, 82, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. She came here 43 years ago from her native Iron River, Mich. She was a Methodist and charter member and founder of Eagles Aerie 3153 Auxiliary, New Port Richey. GRANT, HARRY A., 94, of Holiday, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Integrated Health Services of Tarpon Springs. Born in North Leeds, Maine, he came here 12 years ago from Bridgewater, Mass., and was a retired director of public relations for Wirthmore Feeds, Waltham, Mass. He was a member of the East Corinth Library Association and Board of Trade, Maine Agricultural and Vocational Teachers Associations, served on the National and Northeast Agricultural Committees, and the American Feed Manufacturing Association Committee, was director for the 4H Foundation, served on the Poultry and Egg National Board and was secretary for the Finance Committee for the New England Green Pastures Committee. He was a member and past monitor of the Central Square Congregational Church, Bridgewater. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Bridgewater, and the Alleppo Temple Shrine of Wilmington, Mass. Survivors include a son, Arthur, Leeds; two daughters, Barbara Adams, Scarborough, Maine, and Elizabeth Proctor, Holiday; a sister, Arline Willard, Turner, Maine; six grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. GLASS, HILDEGARDE C., 103, of Belleair Bluffs, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at Harborside Healthcare, Clearwater. She was born in in Dortmund, Germany, and came here in 1965 from East Eddington, Maine, where she retired as director of sales for the New England Frozen Foods Co. She came to the United States after meeting her American husband at a resort in Germany. She was a homemaker who raised and trained dogs, receiving numerous medals for her canines. She was a volunteer at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, and she was active in the Republican Party. She was also an active member of the Busy Bees Club of Belleair Bluffs. Survivors include a son, Gerard A., Boston; two grandchildren, Peter and Louise Harperl; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and came here in 1987 from Bayport, N.Y., where she worked for 13 years as a librarian for Bayport-Blue Point School System. She was an artist and her work was exhibited locally at Dunedin Fine Arts Center, and in galleries in New York City and Long Island. She was Lutheran and a volunteer at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. Survivors include two daughters, Erica Thiel, Belleair, and Tammis Lareau, Brunswick, Maine; a son, Kenneth, Branford, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of Chapter 11 DAV, Clearwater, past commander of Bay Pines/Holiday Isles Chapter 13 DAV, St. Pete Beach, a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Holiday Isles VFW Post 4256, Madeira Beach, and founding life member of the 32nd Infantry Regiment Association, a national organization. He was Episcopalian and an associate member of Augustus Ruser Jr. American Legion Post 273, Madeira Beach. He was a cabinetmaker and a Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of DAV Post 91 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired as an appliance technician after 20 years with General Electric in Tampa. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jewell; two daughters, Barbara Christy, Jacksonville, and Janet Kaminsky, St. Petersburg; seven brothers, Phillip, Dewey, Ronald, Delbert, Kenneth, Bruce and Wayne; two sisters, Louise Wolford and Norma Dowling; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. - CHURCH, MARIE DRAYTON "REE," of St. Petersburg, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at Bay Pointe Nursing Pavilion. A St. Petersburg native, she was a 1950 graduate of Gibbs High School. She retired after 35 years as a secretary at Bayfront Medical Center. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on Usher Board 2. Survivors include a daughter, LaFai Brown, a son, Juan, three sisters, Emma Drayton Ward, Mary Drayton Stephens and Frances Parham, and two brothers, Richard Drayton Sr. and Sam Parham, all of St. Petersburg; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was Episcopalian and an associate member of Augustus Ruser Jr. American Legion Post 273, Madeira Beach. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Linda; a son, John Buschmann, Largo; a daughter, Debra Davidson, Holtsville, N.Y.; a brother, Ronald, of Pennsylvania; and 12 grandchildren.
