D'AMBROSIA, AGNES B., 67, of Inverness, died Thursday (May 31, 2001) at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here 30 years ago from Island Park, N.Y. She was a retired nursing assistant and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, Michael J., Miami; a daughter, Christine Carpenter, Lecanto; two brothers, Jack McGannon and Thomas McGannon, and a sister, Margaret McGannon, all of New Jersey; and a grandson. ELLIS, HARRY E., 89, of Beverly Hills, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) in Inverness. Born in Athens, Ohio, he came here 27 years ago from Detroit. He was a retired press operator in the manufacturing industry and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Christian. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Minnie. MILLER, EUGENE PETER, 85, of Hernando, died Monday (June 4, 2001) in Crystal River. He came here 26 years ago from Chicago. He was a retired truck driver and member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 705, Chicago. He was Lutheran. NORRIS, EDWIN JAMES, 77, of Hernando, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) in Inverness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he came here 15 years ago from Clarkston, Mich. He was a probation officer and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a varsity basketball player at the University of Michigan. He coached youth basketball for 30 years at Our Lady of the Lakes School and Schoolcraft Elementary in Waterford, Mich. He was an assistant coach for the girls basketball team at Lecanto High School and was a member of Citrus Hills Golf Association. He was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Maureen; a son, Michael, Ada, Mich.; a daughter, Cynthia Neef, Leonard, Mich.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Fero Funeral Home with Crematory, Beverly Hills.
OSYCZKA, NANCY, 90, of Inverness, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) at the New Horizons Senior Citizens Home under the care of its staff and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Jersey City, N.J., she came here 27 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She retired as a lab sterilizer from Nassau County Medical Center with more than 18 years of service and attended St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church of Spring Hill. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Harry; a brother, Walter Poronowicz, Ukraine; a sister, Helen Walowich, Inverness; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Chas. E. PASTORE, LUCY C., 80, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) at home. Born in Queens, N.Y., she came here 29 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. TEXTER, CHARLES, 74, of Crystal River, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Vandergrift, Pa., he came here 20 years ago from Clearwater. He was a retired mason and a Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the USS Boxer in the Pacific. He was Protestant. YOUNG, DAVID A. SR., 70, of Spring Hill, formerly of Beverly Hills, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in New Brighton, Pa., he moved eight years ago to Beverly Hills from Austintown, Ohio, then two years ago moved to Spring Hill. He was a retired minister and member of West Brooksville Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; a son, David A. Jr., Charleston, W.Va.; two daughters, Deborah E. MATARO, CHARLES JAMES, 88, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill. Born in Newark, N.J., he came here five years ago from Ocean Gate, N.J., and retired as a stationary fireman at a boiler company. He was Catholic. McPHILLIPS, THOMAS, 72, of Spring Hill, died Friday (June 1, 2001) at Hernando Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Scranton, Pa., he came here 10 years ago from Lenoir, N.C. He was a retired production manager for a heavy equipment company and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 67 in Brooksville. RADESKY, JAMES C., 76, of Spring Hill, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at home. Born in Detroit, he came here 14 years ago from Taylor, Mich. He was a retired electrician for Chrysler Corp. and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. HERNDON, SAM A., 74, of Lutz, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) in Lutz. Born in Jennings, he came to the Tampa area in 1930. He was a produce manager in a supermarket and a World War II Army veteran. HOLST, DOLCY, 84, of Brandon, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at home under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born in Gravois Mills, Mo., he came to the Tampa area in 1968 from Missouri. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher, member of the Masonic Lodge and the Sertoma Club, World War II Army Air Forces veteran, and later retired as a broker for Tam-Bay Real Estate. PARKER, BENJAMIN L. "BENNY," 90, of Brandon, formerly of St. Petersburg and Tampa, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at Brandon Regional Community Hospital. Born in Rose Hill, Ala., he came to St. Petersburg in 1949 from Tampa where he had lived for 26 years. He retired in 1985 from sales and management after working for 30 years at Anderson Lumber Co. in St. Petersburg. He was a member of North East Park Baptist Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Casado Club, Carlouel Yacht Club, Chi Omega Sorority, the Junior League and Clearwater Cotillion, all of Clearwater, and the Hillcrest Garden Club and the Rare Fruit Council. - COOK, EMMA CARMELA, 49, of Clearwater, died Saturday (June 2, 2001) at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg. She was born in Akron, Ohio, and came to Clearwater in 1977 from Washington, D.C. She was a legal secretary and worked for Holland & Knight in St. Petersburg. Last December in Atlanta, she was presented the prestigious Maribeth Roja Williams Award for Outstanding Employee of the Year (a national award for employees in the legal profession). She was a tutor for many years at Northwest Elementary School, St. Petersburg. She was a member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, Seminole, where she was secretary for the Home & School Association. He studied at the University of New Hampshire, the Atelier of Beaux Arts in Boston and the Sorbonne in Paris. He was a former member of the American Institute of Architects, past state chairman of the National Association of Assessing Officials and past president of New England Chapter of Professional Appraisers. He was a retired firefighter and paramedic with the Clearwater Fire Department and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Snow Lodge 363 AF&AM, Boone, N.C.
