All-academic
The following county athletes were named as All-Academic selections by the GCAC. To be included, students had to earn at least one varsity letter and maintain a grade-point average of 3.2 for the first three nine-week periods of the 2000-01 school year.

Citrus County is head of class
The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference sent out its All-Academic selections for the 2000-01 school year this week, and the numbers show a much larger contingent of students honored from Citrus County than in Hernando County's three high schools.
