Summer's juicy fruit: Sweet peaches and ripe melons are rolling into markets and fruit stands.

INTERACTIVE DINING: 6:30 p.m. today, PattiGeorge's Restaurant, 4120 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key. Interactive dinners return for the summer. Patrons choose a "chef" from each table to follow chef Tommy Klauber's lead in preparing one of three dinner courses, paired with wines from a different winery each month. This month's dinner theme is "Bistro Latino." $85 includes apron and memento. Call (941) 383-5111.

You asked for it
Hot bacon dressing is a sweet-and-sour Pennsylvania Dutch recipe. Marion Van Norman, who lives both here and in Pennsylvania, shares the recipe, which is a holiday tradition at her home and is almost no-fail. Marion says it can be made several days ahead and reheated.
