Commuter bliss detoured by 1,760 feet
I don't like to whine about traffic in New Tampa. It gets old and it seems futile. Besides, no one forced me, or anyone else for that matter, to live up there.

CARROLLWOOD -- A Clearwater company wants to develop condos on Linebaugh Avenue, east of Henderson Road. Robert Pergolizzi of Florida Design Consultants Inc. is proposing 136 individually-owned townhomes on the 18-acre parcel owned by the Diocese of St. Petersburg.

Accident reports
1. SHELDON ROAD AT LINEBAUGH AVENUE, MAY 25, 8:30 A.M.: A 74-year-old woman was getting out of a 1985 Mercury at a gas station without putting it in park. She was dragged by the vehicle as it began to move. Her leg was pinned in the door after the vehicle hit a parked 1987 Mercury. She was taken to Town & Country Hospital.
Roadwork
1. INTERSTATE 275, from Busch Boulevard to U.S. 41, will have periodic night-time lane closures. Also watch for construction at Busch Boulevard and Fowler Avenue near the interstate. Work will continue until two new lanes are complete in Fall 2002.
